^ Very nice! I think you totally nailed the timeline. Thanks for the interesting information that connects Frozen to other animated movies. ~ Shaliza

That timeline seems reasonable to me. In "Tangled" the Hooked Thug mentioned Mozart, so it had to take place after his time (I don't remember exactly when he lived...?) and I'm prepared to adopt the idea that Elsa and Anna's parents died on their way to celebrate Rapunzel's return, which would probably mean the main events in "Frozen" took place three years after "Tangled" ended, so Rapunzel and Eugene were either married or engaged. (In the Cinderella DVD there is a short about Rapunzel and Eugene's wedding, and Rapunzel's hair is still short, even though it was years after the end of "Tangled." I guess she liked the look, so she kept it, even though short hair was unusual for a woman in her time). Given all this, I guess Rapunzel was born the same year as Elsa. LOL, it's ironic, given that the source of magic from Rapunzel's hair was the hot sun, while Elsa has the power to create snow, and both girls had to stay hidden and isolated for their powers. I hope to get "Frozen" on DVD in no more than 9 days! I can't wait!

It's amazing what happens when you take only five minutes to research and put together a timeline. Lol, I was hoping that I was somewhat accurate.
I got Frozen the day it came out. Me and my siblings would not stop watching it. XD
And people keep staring at me weirdly because I keep singing 'Let it Go' in Japanese, Korean, and Spanish.

LOL, I don't blame you. "Let It Go" was not only the best song in the movie, it was also one of the best songs in Disney ever IMHO. Less than a week and I'll own it on DVD!

One of Disney's best made movies in my opinion.
Not only was it an adorable movie but it had some great lessons and songs.
Granted, "Let it Go" has become rather overplayed but for good reasons.
I loved Olaf. I loved the side humor. I loved that Elsa made it noted that you can't love a man you just met. I loved that the romance was drawn out and didn't end with a fast marriage. I loved the character development. I loved that the ending ended with sisterly love as the real love.
One of my favorite Disney movies by far.

I too thought that it was very innovative for sisterly love to break the spell that was cast on Anna, as opposed to romantic love. I also thought that *gloves* were used very creatively in this movie. For example, once Elsa gets rid of her gloves she can be herself and embrace her powers. And Hans, wears his gloves for most of the movie until they come off in the end and his true colors are revealed. I thought this was exceptionally well done. ~Shaliza

Yeah, the gloves coming off as a symbol was a nice touch.
I suppose by now everyone knows there is a sequel planned. I can't wait! I heard they are planning to have more fun with Elsa in the sequel, now that she's free. I wonder if we will learn why Elsa has powers? Or if the sequel will use more elements from the fairy tale "The Snow Queen?"

^ Yeah, I heard that Frozen will be getting a sequel too. Often times it's hard to recreate the magic of the first movie, so I hope the sequel won't disappoint. I like the idea of discovering *why* Elsa has powers since no one else in her family does. In the original story, I enjoyed the idea of Gerda embarking on the perilous quest to find Ken. So maybe we can see something along the same lines where Elsa sets off on a quest of her own with Anna by her side. I look forward to seeing more of the sisterly bond as well. ~Shaliza

I think we must have heard different versions of the original fairy tale, in the version I read the boy was called Kai. As for the journey, I think it would be cool to have Elsa embark on one of her own. I guess we'll see. I would also love to see more of Elsa's relationship with Olaf, since she created him, I guess that kind of makes her like a mother to him or something.
I hope we don't have to wait too long. I know it's hard to recreate the magic of the original, but some sequels have outdone the first movie (Look at the Toy Story saga). Let's hope Frozen is one of those. I'm sure it will at least be better than all those direct-to-DVD sequels made in the early 2000s.

^I remember the boy's name as being Ken in one story which was printed in Sri Lanka, which I read as a child. There might have been some regional discrepancies in characters names, I think. But I also remember reading the actual tale from Hans Christian Anderson and that had the boy named Kai. I think it was cool how in Frozen, the male lead had a name starting with K (Kristoff) as well. Disney has a habit of paying homage to the original story in these subtle ways. ~Shaliza

There is an inside joke relating to the original fairy tale: We have characters names Hans, Kristoff, Anna and Sven. Put them together: Hans Christian Andersen.

I did enjoy Frozen. I would't say its my favorite. But that might have to do with it being EVERYWHERE. But I honestly did enjoy it. It was a nice change up from typical disney princess movies. I think what I enjoyed the most though was the music. It had a lot of great songs! Been a while since I heard such awesome disney ones!
