Did anyone see Interstellar last year?
I did - Matthew McConaughey, and Anne Hathaway starred in this science fiction/action kind of movie, and I thought it was absolutely amazing! I did some research to learn that most of the science and scientific theories in the movie, was real. They collaborated with a physicist, so that it was all accurate and not just random Hollywood "wouldn't this be a cool science thing".
Basically it's a story about a team of explorers who travel through a wormhole to search for a planet capable of sustaining human life because Earth is no longer viable in the long run. There's a really important father/daughter narrative throughout the movie, and there's some really important messages. It's also really brain goggling if you're all sciencey like I am - time was a major theme and it was so twisty, and I had a headache from thinking about all the science after the movie.
I definitely reccomend seeing it, if you like that kind of movie. I'd also love to talk about it if anyone has seen it and wants to discuss it?

I loved this movie. One of my all time favorite "hard science" sci fi films. The effect for the black hole was actually derived from a mathematical formula created by the physicist consultant. It was meant to theorize how black holes might actually look. He never had access to the technology before to realize it beyond just the numbers until he began working on this film.
