West Side Story- I'm going to see the musical tonight on stage in Israel, so I watched the DVD of the movie "in preparation." It's a great musical.
The Man Who Knew Too Much- Another wonderful Hitchcock movie. A married couple works together to rescue their son.
Forrest Gump+ Splash- the movie channel ran a Tom Hanks marathon in honor of his 60th birthday, so I watched Forrest Gump and Splash.

Zootopia- I saw it on VOD, only it was called Zootropolis. Still, I had fun seeing it again.
So Dear To My Heart- A cute Disney movie from 1948 combining live action and animation.

The Secret Life Of Pets at the cinema today.
When I saw the ad did really think it look all that, but then people kept telling me that it was good so I went to go see it.
I must say it had more laughs in it than I thought it would. It did dip in places but over all it was not a bad movie. Not the best animated movie out there, but it was better than I thought it was going to be.

The last movie I saw was The Secret Life of Pets, also. It was pretty cute, and the animals were hilarious! I wouldn't say this is my favorite animated film because I felt it dragged at some places. However, for a non-Disney film, I still enjoyed it, and look forward to getting it on DVD for the kiddies in the office! ~Shaliza

Thanks, I was wondering whether The Secret Life of Pets is worth seeing, maybe I will now.
Kung Fu Panda 3- I missed it when it was in theaters, but now it aired on VOD, so I finally got to see it. It's cute. While I enjoyed the second movie more, the third was better than the first IMHO.
Evita- after seeing the play I rented the movie. On the whole I like it, and it did help me follow the story a little better than the stage production, now that I'm a bit more familiar with the story of Eva Peron.

Edge of Tomorrow. Pretty good fun, shows that Tom Cruise can still do great action scenes past 50 years old.

Transformers: The Dark of the Moon (aka Transformers 3) Not a great film really. Don't know why they bothered to make it...well for the money of course, but you get my point lol. I liked the first two, even though they were kind of more about CGI fights than story, but they had some story to them at least. But this one was even worse and had waaaay too much GCI chucked at it for my liking, and there seemed to be a lot of screaming, especially from Shia LaBeouf lol. It was "ok" in places here and there, but over all I was like "when is this movie going to end?" It seemed to go on and on! More story please Michael Bay, and less epic CGI fights that are way too difficult to make out who is who and what they are doing. Transformers: Age Of Extinction (aka Transformers 4) After seeing Transformers 3-Dark Of The Moon the other week, I was very underwhelmed and I was not going to bother with the franchise any more...Then I found out that Mark Wahlberg is in 4 (He is also going to be in 5, Transformers: The Last Knight) So the franchise managed to rope me back in...darn it! lol. I rented 4 and watched it the other day (only coz Mark was in it lol) and it was better than 3, but still not as good as 1 & 2. It was definitely over the top with the fiction. In the first movie the premise of alien robots that transform into trucks and cars was fairly believable...will for a movie plot I mean lol. But they feel the need to make it "bigger" with each sequel and this one, as I say, seemed over the top with dinobots and stuff. And of course, it still had a lot of big CGI scenes that made me glaze over a little coz I could not follow what was going on lol. But at least the film was kind of enjoyable and I was not sitting there just waiting for it to end. Mark Wahlberg did not do a bad job with the material he was given, so I'll give the franchise a 2nd chance for now

Just got home after seeing Moana at the theater. It was fantastic, and another winner for Disney! I will write a more detailed review in the Cartoon Cove soon. ~Shaliza
