Since we have a thread for comedies, I thought I'd also start one to discuss favorite dramas.
My personal favorites are Little House On The Prairie and House M.D. I also love Call the Midwife, Desperate Housewives (although that might qualify as a comedy?) and I loved the first 3 seasons of Beverly Hills 90210, but not the rest of it so much.
I don't know if this belongs to dramas, but I love Columbo as well.

I was just thinking that we needed a thread for TV Dramas, and so it's nice that you got the ball rolling, Disney! I really love Crime Drama series and my favorites are Castle and The Mentalist. I highly recommend both of them. I'm beyond sad that The Mentalist aired its last episode this past spring, but the DVDs make for reliving some wonderful memories from a terrific show. As for Castle, the show will be in its 8th season this fall. It might be the final season though, but I really hope not. *keeps fingers crossed* I too liked BH 90210 when it first began, but then it got too soap opera-ish for my liking, LOL. I will also watch Hawaii 5-0 on occasion, but haven't in the last few years because I was not liking the way the story lines were going. The initial couple of seasons were great though. I used to watch Little House on the Prairie religiously when I was a kid. It was one of my favorite drama series when I was living in Sri Lanka. I also LOVE the British TV series, Robin of Sherwood. Not sure if it's considered a drama series, but I think it might be. Anyhow, I love the way they portrayed Robin and his merry men, and also the pagan beliefs and mysticism that were the focus of the the story lines. I'm just sorry that it was cancelled, but hopefully it will get reboot at some point. I for one would LOVE that. Finally, and this is more of a fantasy/drama series, but I LOVE Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman. Definitely one of my favorite series to date, and I miss it so much. There is a new Supergirl series premiering this fall however, so I look forward to that, and hopefully it won't disappoint. I think that's it for me. Who's next? ~Shaliza

My current favorite dramas are Outlander and Game of Thrones (that's a drama, right?). I love both book series that they are based on as well.
I also love Sherlock, Downton Abbey, and Call the Midwife (I'm a sucker for British TV).
It's funny because I have found I watch very little network TV these days. I do like to catch the original NCIS from time to time, but that's about it.

^ Game of Thrones is listed on Wikipedia as a fantasy drama series, so yeah, it totally counts. I will make a thread for GOT shortly. There's already one for Downton Abbey, so feel free to check it out. I've not watched either, but my friends who do, can't get enough of them, so they are on my bucket list, LOL. I don't watch much TV either, but Castle is a great show on ABC, and The Mentalist which used to air on CBS is awesome too. I recommend checking out both, especially if you like crime dramas. ~Shaliza

Right now I'm seriously into The Leftovers. I LOVE that show! It has everything I expect from a great TV drama: compelling and mysterious storylines, interesting characters, intriguing mythology, fantastic acting and beautiful music. I highly recommend it!

I forgot to mention the sci-fi/crime drama, Alien Nation. This was an excellent show about the Newcomers from a distant planet trying to fit into modern day Los Angeles, CA. I'm sorry that it ended after one season, but I'm glad they managed to tie up some loose ends in the subsequent movies. I highly recommend this show for anyone who loves well-written sci-fi. ~Shaliza

Well, first and foremost I have to mention Once Upon a Time. (Yeah, when it comes to TV dramas, I'm most partial to Fantasy/Sc!-Fi shows.) I should also mention the short-lived Once Upon a Time spin-off, Once Upon a Time in Wonderland. (It only lasted a season.) Following in the vein of Fantasy/Sci-Fi dramas, I also like Agents of SHIELD, Agent Carter, Game of Thrones, Merlin, Doctor Who, Gotham and a show that airs on the History Channel called Vikings. (Vikings is more of a Historical Drama, but there are references to the Norse gods, blind seers, prophecies and the like that it sort of fall into the realm of fantasy.)
I will also now mention a few non-fantasy dramas. First up, The Wonder Years. (I was conflicted on whether to put this in the drama thread or the comedy thread, because it was one of the first shows to transcend the boundary between comedy and drama.) Either way, it's such a great show that it totally merits mentioning. Then Freaks and Geeks. Like The Wonder Years, this show was also part comedy, part drama. And don't even get me started on how tragic it is that this show was canceled half-way into its first season. Luckily, that's what Netflix is for. And my final favorite comedy-drama, Red Band Society. Like Freaks and Geeks, Red Band Society was also canceled during its first season. (And what's worse, the show ended on such a cliffhanger!) The show dealt with a lot of the same issues that many other teen shows dealt with. The twist was that these kids were all patients at a pediatric hospital. I spent much of my childhood in and out hospitals. (Granted, during those times, I was significantly younger than the characters on Red Band Society. But there were certain situations and terminology on the show that were very familiar to me.)
Those are the dramas I can think of for now. I might post again if I think of any other shows.

I love Game of Thrones. I love Criminal Minds. I love Cold Case. I love Once upon a Time. I loved Gossip Girl. I loved the O.C. I love Beauty and the Beast. I did like Teen Wolf but I stopped. I love switched at birth. I love the fosters.
I used to watch this show called Kyle XY which got cancelled and I'm still totally salty over it. This is the only show I've still been mad about years later.
I really like a lot of different 'drama genres'

The only one I'm that up to date with is Grimm, they're playing it in time with America so for once I'm waiting for the Christmas break to end too!
