I remember watching it in the theater and thinking that only Disney and Pixar could make insects look so adorable!
I like how they used the classic fable about the ant and the grasshopper as the backdrop for the story. Using Flik as an ant who leaves the ant hill to look for *warrior bugs* to fight the demanding grasshoppers, was inspired. I also LOVED the twist that the so called warrior bugs were actually clowns in a seedy circus.
Dot was the cutest ant princess ever, and I loved how she made a downtrodden Flik come to his senses.
My favorite character was undoubtably Heimlich the German accented caterpillar. I thought it was hilarious that even though he got his butterfly wings in the end, that he still retained his chubby caterpillar body.
Francis the male ladybug was hilarious too. His constant gripes about being mistaken for a girl were too funny.
But my favorite line in the movie has got to be when the mosquito walks into the bar and orders "One bloody mary, o-positive." That line still manages to crack me up!
Anyhow, who else enjoyed this movie? Please share your thoughts in this thread!

"A Bug's Life" was such a cute movie. I also loved the concept of a male ladybug. It was hilarious. Francis was one of my favorite characters in the movie.
I also loved the music and the building the bird sequence. It was so cool to see the bugs working together, demonstrating the colony is strong when they stand together, even though individually they are made up of puny ants.
Even though the bird was supposed to look monsterous to the bugs, I couldn't help but think that bird was adorable, as were the chicks.
One of my favorite quotes from the movie was, "I swear, if I hadn't promised Mother on her death bed that I wouldn't kill you, I'd kill you!" It's evil, but so funny.
Having outtakes in the end credits was one of the funniest ending an animated movie ever had. I laughed for hours after seeing it for the first time.

I enjoyed Bug's Life, too. Francis was my favorite character. So many funny moments, and the fact that in the end, he doesn't mind becoming the den mother of a "girl scout" troop despite his machoism is too cute and sweet for words.
